- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour

In a mixing bowl, beat butter until fluffy; beat in sugar and vanilla. Mix in flour. Refrigerate, covered, until dough is firm, about 2 hours. Shape dough into 1 ½-inch balls; place on an ungreased cookie sheet.Bake at 350° until beginning to brown at the edges, about 10 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes. Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar; cool on wire racks.
