- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 cups oats
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in oats and walnuts. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 10 - 11 minutes.
