Spaghetti & Meatballs


Sauce:
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 3 cans water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix together all ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes.
 
Meatballs:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Combine all ingredients except 1/2 of the chopped onion. Form into 2-inch balls and fry in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. After browning, place meatballs into the sauce. Add the other 1/2 of the chopped onion to the pan and sauté. Pour the pan drippings and sautéed onions into the sauce. Simmer for at least 15 minutes longer. 

Cook spaghetti following the package instructions and serve with warm sauce.
