| Crumb Topping: In a small bowl, combine sugar, 1/2 cup flour, and walnuts, cut in butter until crumbly. Set aside. Peel and thinly slice apples in a large bowl, sprinkle with lemon juice. Mix in the flour and cinnamon. In a medium saucepan, melt caramels and add the water. Pour over the apples, gently stir to coat. Pour into unbaked pastry shell, sprinkle with crumb topping. Bake at 400° for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool and serve. |
