Kentucky Butter Cake


Cake
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 eggs

Heat oven to 325°. Beat all ingredients well. Bake in a well greased bundt pan for 55 - 70 minutes. Remove from oven and poke holes in the cake while it is in the pan. Pour butter sauce over the cake. Let sit for 15 - 20 minutes until the butter mixture soaks in. Turn over and remove from pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
 
Butter Sauce
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3 tbsp/ water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Cook until butter melts.
